Instructions: Find your favorite toy as a kid and talk about how does the toy has
had an impact in the person you are today. The presentation should be 10
sentences long.

- - How did you get it? Who gave it to you?
- - Talk about the toy and its characteristics.
- - What made the toy special from all the other toys? (Example: it had lights, special powers (what kind of powers), etc.)
- - Now that you are older, how do you feel when you think about all the times you played with that toy?
- - How does the toy relate to who you are now? (Example: it gave you a fun time when you were sad, in the case of a bike, it taught you perseverance, etc.)

Topic: Puerto Rico and Music: The Message in Songs
Task: Second Oral Presentation
Due: September 28 , 2011
Instructions: Choose a song that talks about Puerto Rico (it can be in Spanish) and talk about how does the song identify us as Puerto Ricans and enhances Puerto Rican pride. The presentation should be 10 sentences long.
SUGGESTION: Look for songs that are rare, old and untraditional.
a. Perspectives to focus on:
- Which artist sings the song?
- Who is the audience of this song? (Example: It is towards Puerto Ricans outside the island, people from rural areas, Puerto Ricans in general).
- What aspects of Puerto Rico or Puerto Ricans does the song highlight?
- What is the feeling that prevails in the song?
- What is the message behind the lyrics? (Example: I love PR despite the distance, we should try to be better citizens, etc.).
